3rd round of the Thai National Championship
At the 3rd round of the Thai National Championship Birel and ProSport gained great results in the KF2, 125 Snr Open and Yamaha SL taking wins in two of the classes.
125 Senior Open
Cameron Storah managed to do the double by winning both the
125 Snr Open Class and the Rotax Snr Class taking home two trophies for the team. After qualifying 1st he never looked back through out the days racing, winning both heats and the final. The Birel R31SE powered by the Rotax Snr proved to be a winning combination all day setting the fastest time in the final of 47.935 sec.
In the same class there is a special mention to Richard Clegg, driving Birel RX-32SV who in his first race and with painful ribs, managed to climb into the 125 Snr podium to collect his third place trophy, well done Richard, let's hope this is a start to better things to come.
KF 2 Class
Jonathan Reveille took his second win in this year's KF series and is leading the Championship with 49 pts. After qualifying in second position on 46.085 only 0.08 sec behind Top the race would be on for the day. Heat 1 finished first after Top seized, heat 2, 2nd, Pre-final 2nd and the Final made a lunge at the start on took 1st place, from then on pulled away and crossed the line 5 second ahead of second place and setting the fastest lap in the final of 46.095 proving that the Birel RY-31 S1 with the KF 2 IAME combination was unbeatable. Also not to be outshone by his team mate Joshua Clegg took the lead in the Pre-final and lead for several laps until been overtaken by Top and Jon but showed that he is capable of running at the front in his Birel RX 32-S1, even though a small mistake on the start of the final held him back for several laps, but he never gave up and set his best time of the day of 46.54 sec but could not quite close the gap to Ninga who crossed the line in third position just ahead of Josh by 0,5sec.
Yamaha SL
This without doubt proved to be the race of the day for drivers and spectators alike.
With all of the top three qualifying within 0,5sec of each other, Khan was in third place and determined for a win. Heat 1 finished 1st, heat 2, 2nd place and in the final third, but what looks as though all he did was loose a place in each race was not the case. All of the heats and final, places changed on every lap between the top three and it was anybody's race to win or loose. Watching these young 12 years olds race with so much skill and respect to each other shows that karting should be a non contact sport, well done to all of them for putting on such a fantastic race. Khans Birel Windforce TIA chassis and the Yamaha SL proved again that this is the class to be in for the up and coming drivers with fair and equal racing.
