Third round of the Rotax Max Challenge

Bira circuit, Thailand 11th-12th of July 09

The Birel ProSport Team makes it three in a row...

Cameron Storah

Competing in the third round of the RMC the Birel ProSport Kart Team managed to take their third win in a row with Cameron Storah in the Rotax Max Race.

Driving in only his third race as a senior in the Rotax Max Class, Thirteen year old Cameron Storah managed to take his second win in the series out pacing everybody in all of the mixed classes even the DD2s.

The Rotax Series in Thailand is made up of a mixed class of DD2s (Shifters) Max Challenge, Max Snr, Max Sport and Super Max, all using Rotax Max 125cc Engines

Driving the Birel R31 SE, Cameron out Qualified all the drivers in his group, even the faster DD2s with a time of 48.944, 0.27 of a second faster than Pasin in the DD2 and 0.76 ahead of his class rival Tashina, proving that the Birel chassis was well suited on the MOJO Tyres.

Podium

The teams focus had now shifted to how were they going to beat the DD2, with some set up changes on a thought on how to out do the shifter, things were changes and Cameron went out in the Pre-Final to take the win, but on the start he was boxed out and dropped a few places, but fought back and set about chasing Pasin.

The laps had run out, but he managed to set the fastest time of 49.665, 0,13sec faster than the DD2, maybe we would have taken the win if not for the start, but that's racing.

Final - Situation did not change, again focus was on the DD2 Shifter, clean start and the race was on, lap after lap Cameron attacked, but just could not squeeze through, but a win in his class made the day a great success.
