SKT Series at Saraburi 27-28th of June

Round 3 of the SuperKart Series was held at Saraburi Race Track at Ban Mo, Thailand on the 27-28th June 2009. ProSport were only fielding 2 drivers Jonathan Reveille in the Formula A KF 2 Class and young Daniel Muller in the Mini-Rok Class.

In a last minute change it was decided to enter Jon into the SKT race in practice and gain more experience for the races in Japan next month.

Saturday was a tough day to find the right set-up for the Birel RY-31 S1 but after some radical chassis changes Jon managed to set some fast times and it was looking good for Sunday.

Sunday - Qualified first with a time of 57.57, second Tanart 57.889 and in third Pasin 58,122.

Heat 1 - After a crash on the start the race was restarted and Jon was through into first place and was being pushed by Tanart and Pasin for the first few laps.Tanart have carb problems and dropped away leaving Pasin to push Jon all the way to the finish line.

Heat 2 - Jon made a good start and pulled a gap which he held till the flag.

Final - This would prove to be one of the most difficult to win as all 3 drivers had set the same lap times in the previous heat Start went well and Jon was in first, but was pushed hard by Tanart for 4 laps until he went out with Carb problems, which left Pasin to take up the charge.

Pasin closed the gap and sat on Jons bumper for the next 10 laps attacking him at 2 corners but never managed to take the lead and they crossed the finish line Jon in 1st and Pasin 2nd a very close race.

Mini-Rok

This would be the first race for Daniel at Saraburi in the Mini-Rok class. Practice went well on Friday and Saturday and he started to learn the track in his Birel C-28 C-J and managed to set some fast times. But being new to racing he forgot what he had been taught and struggled on the new tyres for qualifying and was in 9th position, so he had it all to do in the race.

Heat 1 went well and managed to pick up some positions, but in heat 2 he started to fight with Kimmy and they both dropped to the back of the field.

Final - Started well but a few small mistakes dropped him back never managed to close it back up finishing in 6th place just 1 place off the podium. But he drove well and with more races and more experience he will soon be up at the front.
